StageA single scored scenario within a match, with its own target layout and time limit.
Range Officer (RO)The official who directs and supervises a competitor's run for safety and rule compliance.
Hit FactorA stage's score divided by the time taken — the core scoring metric in Comstock scoring.
Comstock ScoringThe most common IPSC scoring method: total points scored divided by time taken.
DQ (Disqualification)Immediate removal from a match for a safety violation.
WalkthroughThe period before a stage where competitors may inspect it and plan their approach.
ClassificationA shooter's skill ranking within their division, based on standardized qualifying scores.
No-Shoot TargetA target that incurs a penalty if hit, placed to test target discrimination.
